WE CARE ABOUT THE PRIVACY OF THE AUTHORS

As Fides et Ratio Academic Society, we protect the privacy of the Authors when using our online services, as we comply with the relevant legal regulations on the protection of personal data (including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR), we also protect the Authors’ data from the technical point of view. We do not hand over any Author’s data to unauthorized entities.

The copyright policy for materials published in "Quarterly Journal Fides et Ratio" is as follows: copyright for published materials is retained by the authors. Articles published in "Fides et Ratio Scientific Quarterly" are covered under the terms of the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 International license, which permits:

Sharing - Copying and distribution of works in any medium and format; for any purpose, including commercial.
Adaptations - Remix, alter and create upon the work for any purpose, including commercial.

Under the following conditions:

Attribution - You must label the work appropriately, provide a link to the license and indicate if changes have been made to it. This can be done in any reasonable manner, as long as it does not imply endorsement by the licensor of the person making the change or the manner in which the work is used.
Without additional restrictions - you may not use legal or technological means that restrict others from using the work under the terms of the license.

 

COOKIES POLICY
 1. Cookies are used in connection with the  provision of content on the Fides et Ratio Academic Society’s websites. These are small text files that are sent and stored on your computer, smartphone or other device from which you connect to the Internet. These files allow the service to recognize the User’s device so that the content of the service is properly displayed on a given device. Servers can read cookies every time they connect to the end device. Cookies usually contain the service domain name of the website from which they come, the time they are stored on the end device and a unique number.

  • adjust the content of websites to the user’s preferences and optimize the use of websites; in particular, these files allow us to recognize the user’s device and properly display the website, tailored to the user’s individual needs,
  • create statistics that help understand how website users use the site to improve its structure and content,
  • maintain the website User session (after logging in), thanks to which the User does not have to re-enter his/her login and password on each subpage of the website,
  • provide users with advertising content more relevant to their interests.
  1. The following types of cookies may be used in the website:
  • cookies that enable the use of services available on the website, e.g. authentication cookies used for services requiring authentication,
  • cookies that ensure security, e.g. used to detect abuse of authentication on the site,
  • cookies that enable the collection of information on the way the website is used,
  • cookies that allow “remembering” the settings the User has chosen and personalize the user’s interface, e.g. in terms of the chosen language, region, font size, website layout, etc,
  • cookies that enable providing the users with advertising content more suited to their interests.
  • cookies that enable the collection of statistical data to identify the way in which users use the websites,
  • cookies from Facebook and Google AdWords that enable reporting on the course of the campaign and tracking users of social and Internet networks visiting our websites. These files can also be used to track events and for remarketing purposes.

  1. The users may change the settings for cookies at any time. In case the User wants to change the default settings, they need to go to the settings in their browser. If any problems occur with setting the changes, use the “Help” option in the menu of your browser.
  2. Please note that many “cookies” allow for more convenient and effective use of the portal. Disabling them may cause the website to display incorrectly in your browser.

 

PERSONAL DATA

The Collector of your personal data, after registration in the service is the Fides et Ratio Academic Society. Providing data is voluntary.

  1. Data collected at registration include: first and last name; address; postcode; town; province; phone; e-mail address; password; academic title, affiliation, ORCID.
  2. Your personal data will be processed by the Collector only for the following purposes:
  • the data obtained during registration will be used when logging into the service,
  • the data obtained during the publication process will only be used for the purposes of the publication and to the necessary extent.
  1. We only process personal data for the time necessary to achieve the intended purposes.
  2. Personal data provided will not be shared with any other entities, except those with an appropriate legal basis.
  3. The service administrator has taken all due care to properly secure the personal data provided, and in particular to prevent unauthorised access to them.
  4. The IT system in which personal data are processed meets the requirements of the Regulation of the Minister of Interior and Administration of 29 April 2004 on the reports on personal data processing and the technical and organizational conditions to be met by devices and IT systems used for personal data processing (Journal of Laws No. 100, item 1024).
  5. The personal data are processed taking into account the principle of accountability, adequacy and reliability.
  6. The User has the right to access the content of his or her data and to correct it and demand its removal.
  7. The rights listed in points 11-13 above can be exercised by contacting m.rys@uksw.edu.pl, dorotasys@onet.eu.
  8. The User has the right to lodge a complaint to the supervisory authority in connection with the processing of personal data by the Collector.
  9. The Collector hereby informs the User that the Collector entrusts the processing of personal data to third parties. The transfer of data takes place only if it is allowed by law. In such a case, in the relevant agreement concluded with the third party, we introduce provisions and security mechanisms for data protection. Agreements of this kind are called agreements of entrusting the processing of personal data, and the Collector has control over how and to what extent the entity to which the Collector entrusted the processing of specific categories of personal data processes the data.

 

ACCOUNT DELETION

Termination of the agreement for the provision of services by electronic means by the User is voluntary and may take place at any time through the User’s account panel, through the contact form or through a person authorized to operate the portal. After the termination of the agreement for the provision of services by electronic means, the account is deleted. After the removal of the account at the request of the User, an e-mail will be sent to him/her confirming the removal of the account.

 

LOGIN AND PASSWORD

We apply technical and organizational measures aimed to protect the collected personal data against unauthorized access or misuse. The technical means used are modernized along with the development of technology, needs, as well as available security measures.

The User is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of his/her password and login.

 

SSL TRANSMISSION PROTECTION

For the sake of security of the portal users, data of particular importance – especially any kind of passwords – are sent via SSL encrypted protocol.
